Virginia Senate Democrats demand apology over Martin gaffe

Senator Henry Marsh and Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam
Virginia's women know which party has their back when it comes to protecting their reproductive rights from Republican attacks. From Virginia's Senate Democrats:
RICHMOND, VA — The Virginia Senate Democratic Caucus demanded an immediate apology from Senator Steve Martin on behalf of Virginia women, for his extreme remarks on his Facebook wall last Friday.

Senator Louise Lucas said, "Virginia has had more than its fair share of Republican vitriol about women's health and their bodies, leading to such outrageous legislation as the mandatory trans-vaginal ultrasound bill. Senator Martin's recent comment that that pregnant women are 'hosts' just underscores that he has no idea what he's talking about and he owes Virginia women an immediate apology."

This issue was recently covered in the Huffington Post under the headline Virginia Republican Says A Pregnant Woman Is Just A 'Host,' Though 'Some Refer To Them As Mothers.'
Eileen Davis and Senator Donald McEachin
