Alamo Barbecue offers Texas fare in Richmond, Virginia

Alamo Barbecue is located at 2202 Jefferson Avenue in Richmond's Church Hill.
It's a tiny building in one of Richmond's oldest neighborhoods. There's no indoor dining space, but there is a tent and several picnic tables out front. The focus is on the food: authentic Texas-style barbecue. I lived in Dallas, Texas for roughly seven years, and I can tell you that Alamo serves up real Texas beef brisket. They have a pretty extensive menu of beef, pork, chicken, and ribs. For lunch, I highly recommend the Texas Trainwreck with beef brisket.

The "Texas Trainwreck," a specialty of the house.
