Ken "Moochinelli" will not resign Attorney General to run for Governor

The "Cooch" is now the "Mooch."

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli recently announced on a right wing radio talk show that he will not be resigning as attorney general even as he begins campaigning full time. So Cuccinelli will be drawing a generous state salary and will continue to enjoy the health insurance and other benefits provided to him for a job that he won't have to to do anymore. That seems fair to Virginia's taxpayers . . . not!

The good news is that in the past, attorney generals that have not resigned usually lose their runs for higher office. Cuccinelli will do a half-ass job as attorney general for the next ten months, but he'll also end up running a half-assed campaign as well. With Bill Bolling contemplating an independent run, "Moochinelli" might feel like he needs the extra income, because it's unlikely he'll ever become governor.

On election day I think Ken "free ride" Cuccinelli will end up regretting his decision not to honor Virginia tradition.
