The Class War in Wisconsin

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

The Republican Party has made great strides in Wisconsin in recent years, including several brand new state senators elected in 2010. Last night they gambled all of that to eliminate unions and cripple the ability of working people to make their voices heard in politics. There will be a class war in Wisconsin: labor versus the Republican Party and its wealthy donors. Who will win? I have no idea, but let's face it--up 'til now the wealthy have pretty much gotten everything they want, even from the Democratic Party. For labor to win this class war would require a radical reassessment of the Democratic Party's current plan of marketing itself as "the other white meat."
