Ken Cuccinelli on his lawsuit against Health Care Reform
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli addresses the Virginia Tea Party Patriots Convention on the subject of Health Care Reform, which he believes marks the end of federalism in the United States. Remarks at Virginia Tea Party Patriots Convention, October 9, 2010.
The odd thing about Cuccinelli's remarks is that he seems to suggest that Americans are bound by foreign laws in this case. Cuccinelli advocates applying 18th English law from prior to the American Revolution to define what the powers of the American Federal government are. Cuccinelli actually cites the Stamp Act and the American colonies' response to the Stamp Act to support his position in opposition to Health Care Reform. Interesting: is Cuccinelli endorsing monarchy over the U.S. Constitution?
