Retraction and Correction

Regular readers of this blog know that I rarely retract or correct what I write, but I am afraid that tonight I must do so.

On May 10, 2010, I published a post entitled "McDonnell appoints Nixon's Jew Counter to Head Reform Panel" in which I identified Fred Malek--recently appointed to a government reform panel by Governor Bob McDonnell--as Richard Nixon's "Jew Counter." In doing so, I may have inadvertently created the false impression that all Fred Malek did for Richard Nixon was to count Jews.

It has since come to my attention that in addition to counting Jews working in the federal government and reporting their numbers to Richard Nixon, Fred Malek also harassed the Jews he identified and arranged for various kinds of retribution against them for the imagined plot that the paranoid Nixon thought the Jews were involved in (there was no plot, Nixon was just a paranoid anti-semite).

As a result of this new information, I would like to retract my characterization of Fred Malek as a "Jew Counter." It has become quite clear to me that Fred Malek was Richard Nixon's "Jew Hunter," and henceforth I will identify him as such in posts on this blog.
