Rachel Maddow's coverage of the "Hatriot" Day events

Visit for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Rachel Maddow had some interesting coverage--including at least one threat directed specifically at her--of the "Hatriot" Day events in Virginia and the District of Columbia. The good news? These events were very poorly attended. The bad news? There are still plenty of right-wing gun nuts willing to launch more Oklahoma City-style domestic terrorist attacks.

I guess one bright side is that probably a tenth of these demonstrators were undercover FBI and ATF agents busily infiltrating themselves into the right-wing's terror cells. Hopefully most of these people will end up like the Hutaree and not like Timothy McVeigh.

I doubt that the attendees at the DC event will end up like the Hutaree. The members of that nutjob group were registered Democrats.....

Here's a theory sure to make you feel good. The DC event only had about 2000 persons on a Monday, in DC. Perhaps the gun owners of America feel that we are winning our fight to protect the 2nd Amendment and felt no need to take off work.

Because we are winning.

The only thing that can harm the 2nd Amendment is a repeal of the 2nd Amendment. Obama's moving that way, huh? He's introduced legislation to take our guns away, or some such? Right?

Why don't we say we've won, get off the NRA's leash, and go hunting?
