Old Time Music at Cary Street Cafe

Do you like Bluegrass? Are you looking for something a little different to enjoy on Sunday afternoons in Richmond? Then check out the Old Time Music Jam Session on Sunday afternoons at the Cary Street Cafe. The jam session is free and lasts from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm every Sunday afternoon.

It's a little difficult to describe Old Time music. It reminds me a little of Bluegrass and, historically speaking, was one of Bluegrass' forebears. The instruments used are the same or similar to those in Bluegrass, but in Old Time Music the fiddle enjoys a special prominence. If I had to describe Old Time Music in a nutshell I'd say it was slower, more stately Bluegrass, but that description really falls short.

Cary Street Cafe also has a decent menu of pub favorites and a nice selection of draft beers, so stop by for some different music and have a bite to eat and a couple of beers.
