Apparently Democrats have not reacted to the defeat of John McCain with the requisite amount of sympathy. We have forgotten ourselves in our celebration of the end of presidency of George W. Bush that there are many of our colleagues on Virginia Political Blogs and Blog Net News Virginia who supported McCain and Bush and are deeply hurt by the fall of the Republican Party from power. Some of these Republicans are so deeply hurt by McCain's loss and the resulting happiness of Democrats that they have resolved to become pirates (see here and here).
Well, just to show that not all Democrats are completely heartless, allow me to share with you some of the most sombre music of mourning the world has ever heard: the Confutatis and Lacrimosa of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Requiem Mass in D Minor VI." As you listen to this moving music, my Republican friends and colleagues, I want you to know that I am thinking of you during this, the dark night of your souls.
