"Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur"This is an awesome album. Not only can you contribute to a great cause, you can also beef up your library of Lefty campaign anthems. No secret what my favorite song on the album is:
"Working Class Hero" - by John Lennon (as performed by Green Day)Choosing Green Day to cover this song was a stroke of musical genius.
Soon as you're born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all.
'Til the pain is so big you feel nothing at all.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school.
They hate if you're clever and despise a fool.
'Til you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years:
Then they expect you to pick a career.
When you can't really function you're so full of fear:
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV.
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill--
If you want to be like all the folks on the hill.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.
Buy this album.

I agree, this is my favorite song from the album. I was really disappointed in the cover version of "Instant Karma" turned in by U2 -- I thought they'd make it high-energy and poppy, but couldn't be flatter.
Thanks for spreading the word about this! I love the album and have already given a couple as gifts, too. (And "Working Class Hero" is definitely my favorite!)
Thought you might like to know that Amnesty International USA has a music player on their site that you can embed in your sidebar for your readers to listen to some of the music from the album while they read your blog. Here's the link in case you're interested:
